Release & Updates: NdeM C424, 44-Tonner, and GP7

The new Ferrocarriles Nacionales de México (NdeM) Alco C424 is now available in the catalog. Developed as a commission, this locomotive focuses on operational realism for Train Simulator Classic, standing out with detailed dirt textures that capture the authentic heavy-use.

Included Historical Phases

  • Late 1960s: Wabash-style base layout, fuel tank box, front "F" marking, and "Clase De 26" inscription on the sill.

  • Mid-1970s: Horn relocated to the cab roof, and sub-lettering added.

  • 1980s: Green cab face.

Model Technical Specifications

  • Dynamic Numbering enabled for automatic road number generation in the simulation.

  • Detailed Dirt Textures, including dust and grime accumulation on the trucks, fuel tank, and underframe to highlight the 3D model.

  • Custom Cab with operation panels and decals fully translated into Spanish.

Work in Progress: GE 44-Tonner

Work in the shop continues to move forward. Our current project, the classic GE 44-Tonner, has just entered the UVW mapping phase.

The main difference at this stage is that the UVW layout is significantly more optimized and organized compared to our previous models. This technical restructuring of the UV unwrapping ensures a much more efficient use of space and a cleaner workflow.

In practice, this organization allows us to deliver very high-resolution textures with a much lower performance impact, ensuring the locomotive runs smoothly and lightly in the simulator. Furthermore, this methodical layout will make it much easier for the community to create new paint jobs (reskins) for the model in the future.

Keep an eye on the blog to follow the next steps of painting and texturing!

Project Status: EMD GP7

For those following the development of the EMD GP7, here is a status update.

The visual modeling has advanced significantly. At the moment, the locomotive has been sent to a highly competent team that will be responsible for the scripting and audio engineering phase.

The work involves the meticulous programming of the cab systems, traction physics, and the implementation of custom engine and horn sounds.

Since this is a complex and fundamental stage to achieve the level of realism and immersion we aim for, it may take some time to complete. The intention is to ensure that all controls and sound effects work perfectly in the simulator prior to release.

We appreciate everyone's patience while things happen behind the scenes. We will be back with more news as soon as we have the first practical tests up and running!
