C-424 New Release!

We're back!

This release introduces a new set of repaints for the Alco C-424 locomotive, featuring three classic schemes from the northeastern United States: Conrail, Reading Company, and Delaware & Hudson. Each paint scheme was developed with a focus on historical accuracy, faithful to the visual standards of the railroads during the 1970s and early 1980s, when these machines were in full operation. The goal was to create a balanced and detailed package, suitable for both real and fictional scenarios in Train Simulator Classic.

  • The Conrail paint scheme includes three distinct variations based on actual units. Locomotive 2492 appears in the iconic Conrail blue applied only to this unit. Another variation represents the transition phase, still with traces of the Reading look, and finally, the Erie Lackawanna-based scheme. Moderate weathering techniques, soot in strategic locations, and realistic details reminiscent of the intense operation of the time were applied to all units.

  • The Reading Company paint scheme recreates the traditional green and yellow scheme. This set received heavier weathering treatment, simulating paint wear, oil stains, and daily operation marks, maintaining the typical appearance of Reading locomotives in the years leading up to the formation of Conrail.

  • The Delaware & Hudson paint scheme, with locomotives in the company's characteristic vibrant blue. This scheme has been given versions with different levels of wear, allowing the player to choose between a cleaner appearance or one with signs of prolonged use. The blue coloring, yellow stripe, and crests have been adjusted to more closely resemble the actual appearance recorded in photographs from that era.

This release is designed for those who want to enrich operations set in the American Northeast, whether on real lines or fictional routes, respecting the operational variety of the post-steam era and the reorganization of the railroads in the United States.
