This release features a new repaint scheme for the Alco C-425 locomotive, showcasing the Chicago and North Western livery. The paint scheme was developed with a focus on historical accuracy, faithful to the visual standards of the railroads during the 1970s and 1980s, when these locomotives were in full operation. The CNW used Alco C-425 locomotives in conjunction with slug units (also known as Booster Units), rebuilt from older RS-3s, such as the BU-41.
